Icehole's Tie one on with Durham Radio

This certainly was a game of firsts. First off we played while one of our own Iceholes was suspended ( The Goon know's who he is!).
Our reputation for being the least penalized was put into question, and a season without a tie came to an end. It was a chippy affair mostly due to an inconsistent officiating crew who kept their whistles in the pockets for the first period, only to bring them out with a vengeance in the third. WIth the Radio-heads up 1-0 Mike T planted one in the back of the twine from a feed from Bob. ( Ok actually Bob barely got it to Mike after fanning on a shot). Going into the 3rd mostly short-handed due to some penalty trouble, the Iceholes trailed 2-1 with time ticking. With 1:10 left Middlehen skated to the bench to give the Iceholes the extra attacker. With some great sustained pressure the puck was put in front where " New Daddy" Press flipped it over the stacked pads of the Durham goaler for the last second tie.

In Division News: The Ironheads won as well. With one game to go we go into the final game tied for first. We play Keyon Drywall and the IronHeads play the Young Gun's. No more needs to be said.

5 in a Row for the Icehole's

Solid game by the Iceholes in this one, they wouldn't let the bigger Pigs push them around. As a result the Pigs took 5 penalties which resulted in three powerplay goals for the Iceholes. I (Lance) manage to not get any penalties for three seasons but for a goon pig that has a mental lapse and decides he needs to punch me in the head a few times. Good news is that he was tossed from the game, bad news is that somehow I received a fighting major even though I never through a punch. Next time if I'm going to get a fighting major anyway, I may as well drop the gloves and actually fight. You live and learn, but I guess I should practice my fighting skills first, oh and pick a smaller and more mentally stable opponent.

Update: Appeal denied - Three Game Suspension it is !!

Icehole's Impressive in Win!

The Icehole's came to play last night, as they were impressive both offensively and defensively. Al made his long awaited return after an ugly ankle injury suffered against Keyon Drywall back on Oct 18th 2009. The only negative for this game was an injury suffered by Fred half way through the second period. He tweaked his groin reaching behind him and dragging the puck up, which put him in on a break away. Fred did get his first goal of the year on the play, unfortunately Fred was unable to play the rest of the game, and will miss the next one as well. This was a close game as Young Guns scored first, then Iceholes came back with two. In the third period Bob scored the Iceholes a go ahead goal on a great shot after making a great play to get by the Young Guns Defence. An empty net goal solidified the victory for the Iceholes, make the final 4 - 2.
